Setsuko's glass melting furnace has been turned ON since this morning 10:30am. It will be heated up gradually and ready to use in 10 days. After then it will be ON for 1000 ~ 1300 degrees C next 3 months continuously.
Exciting News! We were featured in the Hunter Valley Magazine: Issue 7 in an article titled "The Glass Whisperer". The article shows a glimpse into my past and how I found my passion for glass blowing. I would like to share with you the article to read for yourself, I hope you all find it as exciting to read as I did! I have attached the link below, and hope you visit us next time you're experiencing the greatness of the Hunter Valley.
Hello Everyone,
Recently we had the honour of attending the BEC Business Excellence Awards for the Hunter Region. We had produced the awards and also won an award in the retail category. The awards were a good chance to have a look at our own business and how we could improve some aspects of our business, but also we are extremely happy to have been recognised for our hard work. Many other businesses attended the night, and it was great to be able to see what other amazing things the Hunter Region had to offer. It was also nice to see some of our neighbours in the area win some awards, and it gives us pride to be a part of the Hunter Valley. Setsuko has been making milk/water jugs for many years. These are funky ones like bird or fish. They are on display today in Ogishi Craft Centre Gallery.
![]() Since this morning, glassblowing lesson booking & payment can be done through Ogishi's website page. A few people have received a gift voucher of the lesson recently. They can book their lesson day online now. I was thrilled with our first booking & payment for April 2014 came this aftermoon through this system. It needs more improvement. But so far I am very happy with. ![]() This banner was printed very easily at a local shop. But it was a bit of challenge for me to prepare a file for a large print with unfamiliar software. Now it came out quite nicely and I am happy. I am going to take this banner to Hunter Valley Garden to be displayed with my glass work for 3 weeks from 31st August. |

SetsukoI am one of the few women glassblowers in Australia and, in physical structure the smallest. However, I do have an important advantage and uniqueness - I have a woman's eye. This is why delicacy, softness and simplicity are always present in my work Archives
