Last three months Setsuko and her team spent to rebuild the main glass furnace with new crucible. Now we are ready to work again.
Setsuko's glass melting furnace has been turned ON since this morning 10:30am. It will be heated up gradually and ready to use in 10 days. After then it will be ON for 1000 ~ 1300 degrees C next 3 months continuously.
Come to meet Setsuko at Lambton Park NSW, Art Bazaar.
This year we have been focusing on making more appearances in the public in order to create more interest in our fantastic glass. We have already attended the Morpeth Art bazaar, which was a great experience for us at Ogishi Craft Centre. We hope to see you all at the Newcastle Art Bazaar on the 27th of November. We will be showcasing a range of small gift items for Christmas, as well as samples of our Glass Memorial selection and also gift vouchers for Glass blowing lessons. It will be a great day to check out what the artisans and designers of the Hunter have to offer, and a great opportunity to do some Christmas shopping for friends and family!
Exciting News! We were featured in the Hunter Valley Magazine: Issue 7 in an article titled "The Glass Whisperer". The article shows a glimpse into my past and how I found my passion for glass blowing. I would like to share with you the article to read for yourself, I hope you all find it as exciting to read as I did! I have attached the link below, and hope you visit us next time you're experiencing the greatness of the Hunter Valley.
Last week we had the pleasure of having Lee and Paul have a go at our glassblowing lesson. They both made these beautiful green vase and bowl, so we asked them to pose for a photo with them when they came and picked up their pieces on Friday.
We are happy to announce that we have been titled a Superhost on AirBnB! In the year leading up to 2016-09-30, we hosted 13 trips, earned 5-star reviews 90% of the time, and had a 100% response rate with no cancellations. We are extremely happy that we are a Superhost now, as it means we are being recognised for being a great AirBnB Accomodation, how exciting! We hope that this will bring more great and interesting people from all over the globe to stay at our cottage and experience the beautiful Hunter Valley. Our Accomodation sleeps up to ten people and is family friendly, so if you're looking for a great place to stay in the Hunter Valley over the summer, please make an enquiry~
This weekend we had both days booked for glass blowing lessons, one of which let us take some photographs.
The students below were two friends who booked the class to attend together, one of them made a small vase and the other made a small plate (unfortunately we don't have photos of the vase but you can see the plate about to be finished below). The weather was still permitting, and luckily the warm weather hadn't appeared yet as today is 30degrees outside. The following day the two of them came by to pick up their items. Hello Everyone,
Recently we had the honour of attending the BEC Business Excellence Awards for the Hunter Region. We had produced the awards and also won an award in the retail category. The awards were a good chance to have a look at our own business and how we could improve some aspects of our business, but also we are extremely happy to have been recognised for our hard work. Many other businesses attended the night, and it was great to be able to see what other amazing things the Hunter Region had to offer. It was also nice to see some of our neighbours in the area win some awards, and it gives us pride to be a part of the Hunter Valley. |

SetsukoI am one of the few women glassblowers in Australia and, in physical structure the smallest. However, I do have an important advantage and uniqueness - I have a woman's eye. This is why delicacy, softness and simplicity are always present in my work Archives
